Worst mp4 player ever

I’ll save the rant people calling players by their codecs for another day, mp4 players are still mp3 players to me. Got this for free, sharp 1gb mp3 player, from buying an LCD tv. Charged it via usb on my computer, and put some songs in it. It works fine, until I turned off my computer.. I have a hunch that it screwed up because my motherboard continued to supply electricity to it after the computer was turned off. But I removed it like 2mins after I turned off the computer?
